So yesterday I attended Natural Hair Week. I wasn’t planning to but luckily Ella’s (@curlyellabella) friend stood her up (not so lucky) and I managed to get her ticket. Guess what… It was a VIP ticked π Yes I was excited.
I washed my hair a couple of hours before, and using my Coconut Curling Cream by Cantu (tutorial here) I rocked a wash and go.
The event was held at the Marriot Hotel in Marble Arch. Which is where I met up with the lovely Ella. To my surprise it was a pretty small venue and was pretty full. Basically, everywhere you walked you had to avoid bumping into people, which became annoying very quickly.
When we reached the reception area my eyes drifted straight to a sister who was also signing in. Her hair just caught my eyes. It was love at first sight. I later found out that it was Cassandra from @thenaturalhairnetwork who I had been in contact with for a few weeks. She told me that her curls were popping because she followed my advice in my product review/tutorial and used Cantu’s Coconut Curling Cream π
Let’s talk about the goodie bags that came with the Β£24 VIP ticket… a whole Β£10 more than a general ticket. So I expected a whole load of goodies, if not full sized products then at least loads of samples. But no. Here is what was in the goodie bags.
Now I’m not trying to be ungrateful butttt… I’m not a fan of hair supplements and I already have the full sized version of that product. So yeah, I wasn’t too pleased with it. Not to mention the fact that the 10% Hairfinity coupon expired the day before the actual event #awkward
Any who. Back to the positives. I saw so many of my blogger buddies; @curltureuk @naturalhairdaily @naturally_zeze @yolandaas @thelondoncurls @curls_aunaturel. Zeinab (@naturally_zeze) was sooo good on the panel, her answers were both impartial and informative. Loved it!
We walked around looking at the stalls between talks in the main hall. As always my eyes went straight to the African print stalls, and as always they were all over priced. Apart from one! Anaisarts was a stall that had everything from clothes, art, teddy bears, earrings, bow ties, head wraps and so much more. I wish I had taken photos of the whole stall but all I have to show you are my purchases.
The head wraps were Β£5 each and the bow was only Β£4. This was a miracle for me seeing as I was about to spend Β£25 one on head wrap at a different stall. Thank goodness I came across this one. If you go on my instagram you will see a photo of me wearing one of the head wraps π
Well that is all from me for now. I have to end it with a couple of selfies from the day
